So I'm a failure at blogging...

Given the fact that the LAST time I updated this was just at a year ago, I fail at blogging.

However, to any who read this thing, it is that time again. One camp down, one out of country mission trip, one more camp, and one in-state mission trip to go. Ahhh... it's summer time in Student Ministry.

Thankfully, Alyson and I were able to squeeze in a vacation w/ our friends Jon & Dawn to New York before the craziness of summer hit. It was amazing! Alyson may actually post some pics onto facebook from her NEW camera ... but who knows.

I leave Sunday to take another team to Peru where we will do a Bible school with a local elementary school (and possibly high school) in the small town of Conima. Our church has adopted the unreached people group of this town and hope to have local believers and a church planted there w/in 3 years - still a long road ahead, and only 1/2 way through the 3 year commitment. We need prayer for this!

There seems to be a (local) evangelical church in the area, so I am hoping that the SMs (Summer Missionaries) that are currently storying w/ the people in the town can give me some more info about that church and set up time to talk with the pastor. Any help or training we could give them would be incredible! I would love the chance to help teach at and train a local church in an area like that.

As we get ready to leave, some things you can pray for are:

  1. Our families we are leaving behind.
  2. Open hearts and open doors for the gospel to be proclaimed.
  3. Safety in traveling (we come back through Mexico City on the 3rd)
  4. Children's hearts to be receptive to the gospel - and their parents to come to the community storying so they can hear the gospel.
  5. Health for the 6 of us going and the 5 who are already in Conima (I've been battling a summer cold since last week at Super Summer)
Keep us in your prayers, and follow the missions blog at http://fbcwpperumissions.blogspot.com/ (the internet has been down in the town lately, but hopefully we can update some).

Meditate on and pray these Scriptures for us:
  • Colossians 4:2-6
  • Acts 17:22-34
  • Acts 1:8
  • Matthew 28:18-20
