Summer-time in Student Ministry ...

Well, blogging for me has hit a slow time because of the season of summer ... a.k.a., the busiest time in Student Ministry. Thus far this summer I've gone to Peru for a week-long mission / vision trip, preached a 5 day revival in Iowa, graduated 12 seniors from our ministry, took 10 students to Super Summer, vaca'd w/ the family in New Mexico, was the MC for VBS, just returned from Journey Youth Camp w/ 20 students, and tomorrow morning I head to Peru leading a team of 2 students and 2 adults.

In Peru we'll be working alongside our 6 Summer Missionaries leading a Bible School at one of the schools in town and hopefully storying w/ their families in the evenings. We are praying for salvation for some. One of the greatest opportunities I'm most excited to see what God does with is the chance to share the gospel with the teachers at the school. These are the most lost in the town. They tend to be the wealthiest people, so buy the most alcohol to participate in the festivals.

This is a quick blog asking for your prayers. Here are several things you can pray for for our trip this next week:
  • Health for all of our team.  The SMs have been ill. Most are feeling better, but a couple are still feeling a little "rumbly in the tumbly." Pray we don't bring anything from the US & that we don't contract anything while in Peru.
  • Safety while traveling. Most of us will be on the same flights throughout the trip, but there are a couple times our team will be split up - however, the flights should be leaving and landing within 30 minutes of one another.
  • Family that we leave home
  • Open doors to share the gospel. With the children, their parents, teachers, and along the travel.
  • The Spirit to move hearts to salvation. This is the greatest prayer request we can ask for. Only an act of God according to His divine plan can spur someone onto saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Thanks for the prayers.
